basically what i want to know is if this US version of the phone is not specifically US ONLY, since i am in canada and considering buying it.
thank you :)
Yes, the maps application can include Canadian maps - Which can either be downloaded directly to the phone as you try to view Canada via GPRS/3G/WiFi. Or you can pre-install the maps via Nokia Map Loader

so what is the difference between surfing the net over GPRS/3G and wi-fi?
sorry about asking all these questions, i am not very cellphone techy yet :)

is this basically a cost variant, or speed variant? some explanation would be awesome.
Thank you again :)

GPRS - Pretty slow for any kind of data transfer, can also be a costly way of connecting (Check with your network provider)

3G - Considered as mobile broadband, great for downloads on the go, but can also become costly with use (Again, check with your network provider)

WiFi - You are limited only by the speed of your home internet connection, and a traveling distance of about a 25 meter radius of the router. Cost isn't normally added to the equation for this one, for obvious reasons

I'm in a W-CDMA 2100 area (Australia). So I don't have any problems :P
