The black one is an N95 8GB ( N95-2 RM320), out later this year:
Nokia - ShowPressRelease
Not much of an improvement for 6 months on (and I think the original N95 was announced in Sep last year).
Lets hope they have something more exciting for when my N95 contract will be up in April 2008. I'm looking for N70 > N80 > N95 > N97? I'd be disappointed if a slightly larger screen, RAM and battery was it for 12 months.

I'll start with my biggest complaint for you- As far as I know, the black N95 isn't going to be called the N95i. It's going to be called the N95. So is the US version of the N95. And the Chinese wifiless version. And, obviously, the existing version. Four versions of the N95, all called the " N95". Not a great move by Nokia. There should be some distinction between the devices, other than a look under the battery.
Furthermore, the fact that it's been less than half a year since this device has been out... not even a quarter of a year for most of the "early adopters"... and we're seeing drastic hardware differences in an updated device with no distinction between the previous units? Kinda makes me feel beta tested.
I haven't read the article yet. I'll do that now and comment further.

Oh fantastic. The US version gets better reception as well as everything else.
Am I supposed to feel "envious", or angry here? What about everyone else?
Does this mean it will be just even more of a wait for the next N9x and my hopes for a VGA screen?

Current N95 users can attempt to keep enjoying their $750 dollar purchase, or take a hit on ebay to get the updated device. You can kiss your lens cover good-bye too.
I'm thinking about it. I'm not too interested in 3G ATM, as here in "rural" Michigan, I have no idea when AT&T's 3G will reach me from the Detroit Metro area. I am interested in the increased RAM a GREAT deal. Again, being int "rural" Michigan, the increased cell reception would be nice as well. The larger battery capacity I'm not over the top about, since I'm a dedicated proporta user, it's not much of an issue to me. I'd much rather have a lens cover! The 8GB storage of the RM-320 is a gimmick, as far as I'm concerned. 8 GB micro sd cards will be available EARLy next year... so will the ability to carry two of them if you're not limited to the internal memory. If there was room for a storage card as well, I'll be interested. As there is not, I prefer the ability to swap cards, to load them in a PC etc. Gimmick.
If the black N95 was just the same device with large internal storage, and they called it an N95i, things would be fine. But there is a larger battery, larger screen (but not better resolution??), better cell reception, tons of RAM, I heard something about a zenon flash (only once, can't even remember where, or to which new version of the N95 they were refering to)... why isn't this a new device? Why isn't it an N96? Why aren't these features saved for the next N series device with a VGA screen?
So yeah... we're "left in the Dark". I'd say that's a fair statement.

Don't like the black.
Wouldn't have a cameraphone with no lens cover.
Extra RAM would be nice but not essential.
Don't have a problem with battery life, 30% more would still mean charging at every opportunity.
Bigger screen isn't bigger enough to make any real difference.
8GB built in, no big deal, we will have Micro SD cards that size soon anyway.
Do I feel bad, no, I feel privileged to have had the most impressive and sought after handset for six months before these tweaked versions arrive.
