Google phone not happening - but a google phone OS is.

Interesting really. Going to have to work hard, and if I know google, to get the most out of it your going to have to have a good dataplan.

Still, bit more competition wont hurt.

I posted a little blurb about this on tabletblog. My take is that Google would work best as an application suite on top of the user OS (like Symbian, WinMo, maemo, etc.) to maintain carrier agnosticism and application adoption. It would be an epic failure if they tried the iPhone route and users would need to buy a new phone (and likely a new contract) to adopt Google services.

No mention of Nokia, which is interesting, they are challenging Nokia here in Finland.
