Me again lol

Just looking through the Members List, cant help but notice the many many members with 0 post count. Now, Im all for members registering, as Im sure most members are, but do you think, that after a specific period, if said new members still have not posted, their user account should be deleted?

This thread derives from me referring a friend to the site, and the username he wanted had gone, so when i checked said username, I noticed someone has registered an account here quite a while back, and dont have a single post, not to mention been online for almost 5 months.

Basically, I was just wondering if there was an automatic member removal system in place for such 0 posters, non users, dormant accounts.?

Sorry for the boring, seriousness post. I must be bored lol.

I don't think so, not everyone likes to post and many just browse for answers without posting.

Having them on the data base doesn't slow the server and doesn't make all the different. Deleteing them has no real benefit I don't think.

If members we're deactive for 1 month or two, IE. not online etc, then maybe you should think about it, but not for "0" posts. I am signed up on other forums, with "0" posts and just browse.

I'd be unhappy if I was deleted.

This happens at every forum mate,it used to happen to a themes site i was admin at.
People would just sign in so they could then download themes,i think at that site near on 3 quarters of it's members didn't input to the site or the forum......just take take take.

i agree with IJM. some people would just browse for answers to fix their problems and maybe after that they'd just go for the themes. some late comers wouldn't like to post because of so much things to catch up.

Yeah it'd be nice if we could keep the people IJM is talking about and get rid of the ones Mr.G mentioned but sadly there's no way of telling between them! Just have to comprimise i guess :shrug:

I would like to see a section of the forum ( for themes and third party apps ) for active members.

members who wish to browse Q&A's can do so freely, for someone that wants to download and get theme and apps from this site would have to contribute.

I see that as fair, IE a certain post count of good posts ( moderated ) and are then given access to the forum to download.

I'll second that. Kind of a minimum post count or somthing similar to gain access? Encouraging member to put something into the site. Then again, we would probably get people spamming then
