Start it up in safe mode by hitting F8 (usually) when it has just passed the bios screen.
You will then get an option to go into the administrator account that was setup when the computer was first setup. 9 times out of 10 my customers have never passworded their main admin account.

Of course anyone worth their salt would just say log in as your admin account then change the user account from within windows!
And if you've setup your admin account as your main user you shouldn't be allowed to use a computer! ;) Says a man that deals with halfwit users every day of his life!

Its not easy to do if you know what your doing.... you never setup your "admin" account as your "working" account, thats asking for trouble.
You configure your primary admin account, and write the password down and store it somewhere safe, like write it on a label on the battery, unless your Gary Glitter you've no reason to keep the admin password "that" safe.
My profession is in IT, and it gets ma goat when folk make silly mistakes.... read the manual for gods sake, it doesn't take long. ;)
Arrrrgggggghhhhhh.............. and breath.... its ok folks, i'm ok now! lol

Exactly.! The account Im using right now on my laptop is my Primary Admin account. Ive never used the actual Admin account. This laptop is second hand you see, so im guessing the previous owner set it. I managed to change the name of the admin account when i first got the laptop, but don't ever recall using it.
Thanks for all advice, and offer to help. Im about to try what salada2k recommended. I will report back when Im done. Hopefully......
