Just brief hands on experiences I had with the afore mentioned phones today in the newly fitted O2 shop up in Central Milton Keynes (store is great by the way, they don't have dummy phones but the real deal, powered up for you, every phone available, for you to play around with!).
N95 8GB - I'm glad I finally got round to seeing this up close and personal for the first time. If I had any doubts about whether to upgrade from my
N95-1, they were well and truly realised today. I hate it. There, I've said it. I don't like how 'squashed' it feels. The buttons on the front of the slider are far too close together compared to the
N95-1 for my liking. The extra screensize is negligible and I didn't even notice it until I held my
N95-1 side by side with it. The black is not as nice as how I'd expected it would be. Overall it feels chunkier in my hand. I seriously dislike it and I don't see it as any improvement over the
N95-1, personally.
N82 - I've actually had a bit more hands on with this one as mate in work has it. Its a nice phone but those tiny buttons put me right off. I'm not really a fan of this type of phone, I much prefer sliders. In comparrison its not a lot different to the
N95. Nice phone in its own right, if you like this style, but again its not for me. I'm glad I've had a good go on this phone though.
N81 - Similar issues for me. Buttons feel too crammed together. Arrangement of the buttons are awkward IMO. Love the look of it though, its very attractive.
