Jumped the gun...kinda sux...

Part rant, part question:

well, I got my N95-2 8GB about 2 weeks ago and I love it. Unfortunealty, I probably didn't do all the research I shoulda done before buying it and I'm kinda stuck with this for at least while. Issue is, the access to the 3G was kinda high on my priority list when I was shopping for a new phone. I did know that my carrier, t-mobile doesn't have the 3G network in place yet, but I was "thinking" I was gettin ahead of the game with a 3G phone. well, as we all know the N95-2 isn't 3G compatible here, apparently. My only saving grace MAY be the fact that TMo is likely using a freq that isn't used commonly here in the US, and maybe, just MAYBE, will be usable with the N95-2. I just noticed a post showing the the N95-4 (8GB US 3G) is out and may have been a better purchase. In my haste to buy a phone and without doing all the research I should have (yes...I am an N95 noob), I was under the impression that the N95 8GB was just that...one version only, lol.... I guess my question is: Is the N95-2 compatible with ANYBODY's 3G network here in the US? Am I in denial here? lol

My Tmo contract is actually up in about 2 months and if I'm not just in denial and it is compatible with somebody's network I may think about switching...I love this phone tho...

the current n95-2 is not compatible to any 3g network in the US...only the n95-3 for at&t. i'm still waiting for t-mobile on what 3g frequency they're going to use.

Unfortuneately if you want 3G now your going to have to switch phones and providers. Or if you just want to wait you can just get a new phone, but you might be waiting a while. Since you have the better model you might be able to break even if you sold it for a n95-3, and i think you guys have number portability but I can't confirm that. Your going to get best firmware support with your current phone so perhaps thats a reason not to switch stuff considering its such a hassle.
