att data plan

Hi all,

well i'm thinking of switching to att to actually make use of 3g on my n95-3 and i had a question or two. I've done a bunch of reading from here in the past and it seemed like the media max $20 plan that was unlimited was definatly the way to go. Problem is that package is no longer available. The only packages i've found available now is a media max one (there's only this media max package now aparently) that is $35, and a pda personal plan which is $30 for unlimited data. I think i remember reading that someone uses the iphone $20 data plan and that would be a steal, but i couldn't find that post to reference.

Anybody up to date with the latest in att packages that would be best for n95? I appreciate your comments

I use AT&T's MediaMax Unlimited for $15 per month. It works great.

There's no 3G in my town. Even if there was I read somewhere that my N95-1 wasn't USA 3G compatable.

Theres no difference between 3G data and edge data billing/plan wise. The plan you want is "MEdia Net Unlimited" for 15 which is unlimited data. The old plan which was recently discontinued was "mediamax 200" which is unlimited data and 200 messages for 20 dollars. The same plan can be made today by combining "MEdia Net Unlimited" & " Messaging 200".

heres the link: Get Started - | Wireless from AT&T, formerly Cingular

Also, it is still possible (but very difficult) to get plans which are no longer offered. Its called a transfer of responsibility and basically means someone else has to give up the better plan, which they arn't likely to do. But atandt did offer a plan once, MEW1 (MediaWorks 1) for 20 bucks which was unlimited data and unlimited messages for 20 dollars (essentially unlimited - 200 messages bettar than whats offered today for the same money).

They also used to offer a plan for 10 bucks- unlimited data, unlimited text. I'm still on that one from the days of yore. ;)

I am currently on the iphone data plan because I bought the iphone. As mentioned, data is data, edge and 3g data is data to them. Just reviewing my past bills, my data usage went from 150mb a month to approx 3gb. Go figure streaming radio would be such a hog....lol
