I'm not an expert in this matter, so if I'm wrong please correct me, because I still have a little hope that I could use 3g in Canada on N95.

N95-8GB support HSDPA on the Rogers (North American) bands. So you should be able to use 3.5G on the N95 the North American Variant

N95-3 Purchase In Canada And Usage On Rogers

I purchased N95-3 (NA edition, supposed to work 3G in US/ Canada on proper frequency) from Tigerdirect.ca at $580, no problems, no customs costs, received in two days. News reports say Rogers will begin to sell in May at $695 (no contract). I have just started and have some connectivity problems with Rogers Internet - it worked originally but has stopped although a 3G connection is established - but with a blank screen (when I first started the usual Moblie Internet appeared). I can still browse through my own and other wireless access points, including full internet page functionality (not just "mobile internet"). Plus side: this costs nothing as I am not using the Rogers network and in fact while using my WAN (or somebody else's) have no actual network connection to Rogers. On the downside the Rogers tech people do not yet know the phone and cannot seem to help with difficulties. I purchased a "data plan" but do not seem to need (or in fact, to be able to use) it, so will probably drop it and just use offline WAN access points for internet when available. Don't need email so no big deal there. GPS works fine without "network" connection. Phone itself works fine with Rogers network.
