Yes, just told them pretty much what I posted above - apart from I missed out the bit about changing the product code!
There does seem to be an awful lot of comments on the net about bricked
N95's caused by updating the firmware. I wonder what's the ratio of a successful update compared to a bricked phone? It's 50:50 with me.
