Arrow Three Insurance...is it worth having?

Hi, I have just had a call from Three asking if as I had "such and expensive mobile" if I wanted to cover my N95 for £5.99 a month. This covers it for theft, water damage and accidental damage with a next day courier service or a new phone when I claim. It sounds good to me but was wondering what you all think.

Well insurance in general is a net benefit for the provider and net loss for the customers - ie they make money off it. But if you happen to be the one who's n95 burns down or house explodes insurance sure is usefull.

Edit: wait ask them if this insurance covers acts of god, terrorism, vandalism, and fire damage.

Hi McBrucie, if you have your own house contents insurance then your phone is probably already covered by that.

I remember a few years ago i dropped the bog roll on the bathroom floor and bent over for it and out popped my nice new phone from my top pocket straight down in the toilet water.....

Wow they replaced it........

I agree wi th gordonshowers above in that if you have home content/personal belongings insurance cover then your phone is already insured. No need therefore to waste your money by giving some to 3.

My N95 8GB is insured with the bank, part of the benefit of my account with them i.e. free insurance :)

No, thats why insurance costs so much in the first place.

If found out to by lying, then usually fraud charges are brought. Rightly so IMO.

Not to mention the IMEI number gets blocked.

Possibly resulting in another phone being sold to some poor mug who then either takes the hit, or flogs it abroad.
