Phone back, and press the options which take you to the Retentions department. In the voice menu, it's something like 'if you are thinking of leaving Orange....'.

This way you will get through to the UK call centre. You will have more chance getting it sorted with them.

Well, they just wouldn't have it. After being quite used to getting my own way with retentions, it appears that Orange weren't being very courteous to me today.

According to them, this particular package is only offered with their Panther 45 package or to Blackberry users. Not with my Select 500 package. She wouldn't budge no matter what was said.

As an Orange user since launch, I'm quite disappointed that the only option to me was to leave. If it wasn't for the excellent cell coverage with them in the areas I use the phone, I would do, but....She asked me to write in and complain if I wasn't happy with what was being offered.
