Vodafone - get your act together

Unlimited Internet Access on Vodafone?s New Monthly Price Plans - Vodafone
Now, a 500MB allowance on all tariffs over £25 might seem good, but vodafone are advertising it as Unlimited. Since when was 500mb unlimited? This is an even smaller amount than the other networks 'unlimited' bundles.

Id have thought Vodafone would have learnt by now, after all the people going over the limits and complaining.

AFAIK, they don't even have an alert system yet, and the price per MB after the limit is very high. So people who go over the limit on 'unlimited' plans get charged a great deal of money they were not expecting.

Its quite likely I'll be moving from Vodafone at the end of my contract, after many many years with them.

Im aware other networks have similar restrictions, but recent actions by Vodafone have annoyed me.

Edit: There are lots of changes I was not aware of - one being you do not get charged for going over the 500MB. This is a much welcome change!!

have you tried to tell them that you will be leaving because of this? I know here with AT&T if you tell them you are going to a different provider they try REALLY hard to keep you. From what pseudo has stated he's used over 6GB of data more than once on AT&T's unlimited plan with no problems

No, my contract isnt up till December time, Im just annoyed at the antics of Vodafone. At the moment I have a reasonable deal. But I thought they were genuinely trying harder with the team going round on the forums, but the more I see the more Im convinced it was just a PR exercise.

If Vodafone were genuinely concerned about its customers, it would have improved the general phone support, rather than just targetting voices on forums.

At the moment Im trying to find out if the 500mb applies to me on my existing contract. However, its not even mentioned on their site yet, where you buy new phones and sign up for contracts.

I saw this post and rang Vodafone up as I'd upgraded 4 weeks ago and am paying £7.50 for the 120mb internet add-on. The operator couldn't do anything about putting me on one of the new contracts as I was out of my 14 day cool off period (these new tarriffs are only 24 months contracts BTW). But she gave me a £7.50 discount on my contract for the next 18 months, giving me my 120mb bundle for free!! I've never gone over my 120mb limit, so I'm as happy as a pig in poo!!!!!!!!!!

I was paying for 120MB @ £7.50, it seems i've been upgraded for free without asking:

"7.50 MobInt data bundle 500MB 01 Apr to 30 Apr £6.39"

Neil

I used to be on Vodafone, and I was impressed when I first started over 18 months ago, but since then, they have gone downhill service-wise and price-wise and have recently just moved to O2 and I am very satisfied so far with them!
