Three Repair Service

Hey all,

Gutted!! Was using an original Nokia in car charger in a 24v van (before anyone says, it's 24v compatible - on the sticker), and it decided to freak out today and cause a loud bang. My n95 8gb still works but won't charge any more, so I've had to book it into the 3 repair service, which allegedly takes 3 working days .... has anyone had any experience with this? Is it that fast? Are the repairs good enough? Just curious for other experiences.

Cheers!

Jason

Well strap your self in for a wait, but then on the other hand i have heard they are some times fast.

It could go either way.

What would you say would be an "acceptable" waiting time for a repair?

Just need to find some sort of level before I kick *** and get heavy with them.

Well i think i would get them to write down a time scale for the repair on the receipt they will give you for your phone, and go from there....

If they do it onsite i would have thought 3 days but if they have to send away i think a week would be exceptable.

I'm actually going down the collection route, they're collecting and and "supposidely" returning it on Friday - which would be 3 days, I suspect there is only damage to the charging circuit which shouldn't be too major.

I will give them a week, bearing in mind there's a darn bank holiday on Monday, just a good job I have a backup phone!!

Cheers for your help,

Jason

Surely will do! Thanks again for your advice.

Just on a side note ... I took apart the Nokia in car charger, a couple of caps have popped, it's pretty messy, doubt I'll be buying genuine Nokia again!!

Caps = Capacitors, if I'm right in my thinking they store power .... but they seem to have exploded in my case, not sure if it was a short or just crap equipment! I have grabbed a few pics, will post one when I grab it off the camera.
