Phone gone AWOL!
Hi all
My hubby had a problem with his n95 8gb. The phone wouldn't recognise when the slider was open or shut. So he took it to a nokia repair centre who couldn't fix it on site so had to be sent to Nokia itself. That was... Wait for it... 6 weeks ago. And the phone isn't back from nokia yet. The repair centre are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. They're like "yeah, yeah, we'll chase it up". They don't give a monkeys.
Anyone else had experience of this?!
Will my hubby ever see his phone again?! Who knows...!

Did you get the phone on contract?
I had a similar problem with repair center but not as long as 6 weeks. I phoned my phone operator O2 and said i would cancel the contract because the phone they supplied was faulty and had to be repaired. I had a new phone sent with 48 hours after they contacted the nokia center.

Yes it's on contract with 3. He had the phone for 6 months before it developed the problem, 3 said it wasn't their problem so directed us to nearest nokia repair centre as it's still under guarantee.

But you are still paying the contract fees and you have not got the phone. Even if its still under guarantee they still have an obligation to either send you a new working phone or contact nokia center to speed up the process

Yep Gazzer, you're not joking. Yet another thing to add to our catalogue of catastrophies. Oh i can't wait till our contracts are nearly up so i can tell them where to go.
I'm coming back to you Vodafone-all is forgiven! Lol

You really should have dealt only with 3. Your contract is with 3 and not with Nokia. It's up to 3 to sort it out.
I suggest that you call 3 and tell them their contract is not much use to you without a phone and that you want a replacement phone within (say) 3 days or you will regard the contract as broken by them and cancel your payment method!

Exactly, your paying 3 for the phone via the monthly contract.
And the warranty is with them, the fact they have to deal with nokia is their problem, not yours.

You have to be firm and assertive with these numpties. Show them who's boss and demand to see the manager. Then demand to see the managers manager. Threaten them with the SoG Act.
