Info service on 3 UK when in roaming

I'm trying to help out a friend who is travelling in Europe.

He has a Nokia 6233 on 3 UK and it has been trying to log on to some "info service" ever since he entered roaming territory.

How can this be turned off - I presume it is something specific to 3 and I know nothing about this abomination of a network.

When i was away on me hols last year i remmeber not being able to change any settings or here to my answer phone messages on my phone while i was away roaming because i had not set up a pin number or something before i went.....

I just switched off the phone for the rest of the my hols in Mexico, thought i would give little Mexico a little mention.

Not really, he actually wants to use his phone, but without having to continously stop these attempts at logging in to an unknown service.

I have been unable to find anything useful on 3's website.

Yeah you can turn off service messages but not sure what the actual route to the setting is on that phone (not sure what it is on my phone now either!!). I did the same on my N95 8GB as I was getting them all the time too here in UK.. I got the info by logging on to My3 and then to their website FAQs... I think :)

cheers, David.

Your mate could always call 3 Customer Services and ask them to turn it off. shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 calls to sort.
