For *handset* use XSeries Silver on 3 is hard to beat. Pretty much all ports open, with a 1Gb FUP. (I heard the soft stop is actually 2Gb). I've never gone near. Think I managed 600 Mb once though.
But it's the certainty that I won't pay more than 5pcm I like. A slap on the wrist if >2Gb is fine.
I disable data roaming (which you can do on My3) as I just can't trust myself or the phone to use data sparingly, am just too used to "always on" in the UK. Could run up a massive bill *very* quickly. Definately would want a fixed ££ FUP style tariff for roaming abroad (even if Mb was low)
None of this pay per Mb....
