Orange - Poor Network?

Well i was a vodafone customer for my first contract, 18 months. But ive now switched to Orange, and been with them for a few months.

In comparason, Orange just seem really really poor! In my house alone, i vary from full 3G, right down to no singal. On vodafone, it never left full 3G!

In pubs, my signal is very poor with Orange, it varies between absolutly nothing, to rarely one bar (out of 7). My friend on vodafone, had full signal. In clubs, Orange had again, a really poor signal, varying from nothing, to a bar or two, whilst when i was on the vodafone network, it was a good signal, and usually on 3G! The club that is in comparison is about 15 miles from my house, and in a main town area where the coverage should be good.

On orange, i have had many text and phonecall issues. Sometimes texts will not get deliverd to the other person at all. Last night, i sent 6 messages to the same person, and none got delivered, despite me getting a delivered message alert. Sometimes instead of my phone ringing, i just get a text telling me i have a missed call, even though my phone didnt ring!

Am i just having bad luck, or is Orange's signal, and services such as texts not sending, and calls not being recieved a common problem?

I kind of wish i stuck with my vodafone N95-2 so i can be on what seems a far superior network, rather than going for the phone i want and have to suffer with the network problems Orange has!

These problems were unaware to me within the 14 day cool-off period! Otherwise i would have and gone elsewhere.

I looked on google about the calling thing, and it said it was to do with dropping out of the 3G connection, into 2G, then when going back into 3G, the next person to call you won't be able to get through. ( The Orange 3G>2G Handover / missed call issue - 3G forum : your 3G community and resource. ) This was wrote in 2005, its now 2008, so i don't see why there should still be a problem if it is that! For now, ive set the phone to only use the GSM service, which i shouldn't have to do. But since i don't use the Orange internet because its rediculously expensive i can live with it.
