Tethering connection on and off

I have a n95-4 with current firmware, I'm with AT&T with unlimited data package. I have great 3G and sometimes 3.5G signal. I have used the data cable and now useing JikuSpot Light. Most of the time everything is good but more and more I have problems saying "connection stoped" for no reaason. I get a good and very fast connection 1.34. If I reconnect right away the connection will last no more than 2 minutes untill I have to start all over again. To make the connection again and last I have to change the settings Access point and then all is good for 20 or 30 minutes and somtimes longer. I have tried all the different access points Media Net and MMS. I have choices AT&T Internet (I'm not sure on this one) MEdia Net,AT&T MMS,Cingular MMS,MediaNet,Cingulas MMS(1),Media Net (01). While I was typing this I dropped connection useing JikuSpot. The jikuSpot works 100 times better than the cable. With the cable I have found the phone saying its an active connection but no or not alot of data is being transmitted less than .20

2 Days and no one has a fix? Is this just an issue that I'm having with my phone? It's still in the 90 days return so Should I send it back before I can't? Any help?

Yes I did that before I installed the new update. Tonight I have been connected via USB and it was on and off for about 5 mins for 3 times and now this time is been on for 92 mins now. 131.88 mb and knock on wood no problems. This is via usb not the JikuSpot.

well using the cable is more stable so i suggest you just use that. you can get a dke-5 cable that syncs and charges your phone. :)

Yes I have that cable it was the first thing I ordered. I'll have to see how long this last useing the USB. Thanks for the help!!

have you tried connecting with bluetooth or have you used walkinghotspot?

Yeah- as Jaustin recommneds- I'd give Walkinghotspot.com a try. Some people have far better luck with its stability than JoikuSpot....

btw- it is indeed j*o*ikuspot, not jikuspot. ;)

I did try to get Walkinghotspot but I have got the download yet. My issue is not the connection to the computer its the connection from AT&T to my phone. When I look at the active connection and its says Status Conn (inactive) .....It shows this most of the time or goes between the active and inactive......Next line is the total then Received xx.xx MB Sent xx.xx MB Duration xx:xx:xx Now this is the problem anything under 00.50kB/s the pages STOP it will and mosst of the time I have to dissconnect and reconnect. Last night I had a good connection for about 1 hr and tonight I had a connection for about 15 min and then I restarted the phone and over 2 hr now it's still working with speeds up to 1700 kbs download and 400 kb/s upload. It just sometimes will not connect or I should say not stay connected for 1 sec its radom. I can't put my finger on what it is exactly. It just happens just to piss me off I think..I'm gonna try to get Walkinghotspot again and see what happens.

I'm with AT&T and have an N95-3. I tether via bluetooth (using windows dial up settings) and have maintained excellent high-speed connections for hours and hours. I'm not familiar with Walkinghotspot or JikuSpot.

One point however, I do find that my N95 gets "flaky" when too many apps are running simultaneously in the background- you may want to ensure that everything is closed down and you're on a clean boot up before modeming.... just a thought. Good luck!
