I've been around the various networks and so far the best deals i've seen have been

Sim only - O2 £20/month gets you 600 mins and unlimited texts- or you can get 500 texts + 600 mins + unlimited browsing.

Also on 3
£20/month + £5.00 unlimited browsing gets me a new N95 + 300units/ month (a unit being a text or minute)

-i've a perfectly good N95 -so i'm tempted by the O2 offer- but then there's the lure of a brand new phone...

the O2 offer can be stopped in only 30 days too- so no big tie in if something better comes along in the meantime.

Anyone here taken up any of these offers?

On any vodafone tariff, what they sometimes do not advertise, or list as an option when buying through the web, is that you can add a data add on.

Theres 2 options:

£7.50 per month on a rolling monthy contract (but not available if your on PAYG)

£5 per month for the remainder of your contract.

Both give you unlimited (but a FUP of 500MB) of data each month. Since its oddly not on the web as an addon option, you have to ring up and ask it be added, but be assured you can.

my girlfriend has just signed up to the o2 simplicity 20 pound a month 30 day rolling contract and she gets the 600 mins 1000txts and unlinited internet for 20 pound a month

you get the 600 mins and 1000txts as standard but you get to choose a free bolt on which can be lots of things she chose the unlimited internet

i dont think you can beat it for 20 pounds

she is very happy with it and ive been with o2 for 2 years now on contract and 4 years on pay and go there customer services are very good and in generall they are a very decent network to be with

ive also seen better deals then the three one you mentioned ie it would be a free n95 for 30 pounds a month with unlimited internet and txts and 700 mins

ive seen this three offer in the sun newspaper on a daily basis direct through three its quite good value if youre happy with the n95

Cheers for that info.
I checked the 3 website and there's an offer on there and unless i'm reading it wrongly- its £15 for 300 units (calls and texts) + £5 for unlimited internet

-so thats £20/ month and you get a free N95 -thing is though - i'd prefer to stick to the networks that use a standard sim- from what i hear, 3 use a different kind of sim which would limit me to just using their service

hi mate id check the o2 simplicity then its a good deal plus you can use video calling as your free mins and mms is charged at 4 of your free txts other networks charge sperate for ''data'' as they call it so even though you have unlimited txt other networks make you pay for mms and viseo calling with o2 you get them in your allowance so if you fancy making a video call you wont be charged the norm 50p a min itwill just use up your mins like normal :-)

that three one you mentioned isnt bad but you dont get much allowance say 150 mins and 150 txts is the 300 units if you dont use your phone alot then its ok but otherwise it could be dangerous , what about sms do they charge that seperate , the one i said comes with 700 mins and unlimited txts for just 10 pounds more so as you can see its a goodd deal. they are also better with their data then o2 , ie o2s unlimited data is 200mb i believe but dont quote me that threes unlimited allowance is 1gb , 5x what o2 offer as fair lol

saying that i use the internet an awfull lot and only went over the 200mb once and o2 didnt charge me for going 50mb over it allthough data is charged at 3 pound a mb after the 200mb so they could have charge dme 150 quid

T-mobile called me tonight and offered me £10/month for unlimited browsing and 100 minutes and 200 texts- sounds ok, but i'll use more texts than that, so i'll probably get back onto them and see what they can come up with to better that.

They then countered with £17/month for £34 of calls/ texts + unlimited internet- i think they can do something better than that tho.

-How far can you push these mobile companies -anyone know?

best thing is to tell them the deal that o2 are offering 600 mins and 100otxts with a free bolt on for 20 pound a month tell them surely they can match that and beat it??

if they want your custom still iam sure they will try thier hardest , ask them to go speak to their acting manager and see what he thinks

you can push them quite far mate , best place is retentions , ask for them then tell them your leaving and want your puk code as other networks are being very competitive and youre tempted to try one out , but then say if they can match the deals or beat them you have no reason to leave :-)

good luck matey

I phoned t-mobile today and sold them about the simplicity offer (like they don't already know)

anyway, the guy i spoke to was pretty helpfull and i've signed up for another 18month contract with a view to a handset upgrade if something comes along.

So i've got 100 minutes (i use about 50 if i'm lucky)
also unlimited texts and unlimited browsing for £20 / month

-better than the simplicity offer and i don't need to change my network -so i'm happy with that.
