N95 - 850 MHz UMTS (US 3G) version

There are multiple rumors out about a future version of a N95 that will support either the US 3G UMTS frequencies (850/1900MHz) or even a version that supports the US 3G as well as the European/Asian 3G frequencies. Can anybody confirm those plans or have any inside into Nokia's roadmap beyond the N95? How much faster is 3G vs. EDGE for the end user?

I can't comment on the rumors about an N95 with support for US 3G frequencies but EDGE provides upto 80 Kbps while HSDPA, which is technically 3.5G, can support up to 3.5-3.6 Mbps. UMTS is slower than HSDPA but quite a bit faster than EDGE.
