couldnt people who flashed their firmware with the generic firmware just change the product code back to the original and reflash the phone again?

No, unfortunately that does not work, I have tried it. It tells you you can 're-install' the firmware, but depsite already having changed your product code back, it reinstalls with the same firmware as your 'modified' product code, as you can see by pressing *#0000# that the bottom line in the firmware numbers (the one in the brackets) is for exmaple if you chose EURO1, that code is still 01.01.

I see your point but what would we re-flash the phone with? How can we get hold of a copy of the 10.0.018 firmware that will allow us to flash it to the phone? At the moment it only resides on my device. Am I missing something?

I've no idea. The only reason I found out about the T-Mobile update is because I've been sad enough to check the Nokia site almost every for the past three weeks!

Just type your product code in and see what heppens!

Nokia - Software update availability - Phone software update - Software - Get support and software

Hi there,

I have previously changed the product code for a firmware update and today, having seen this topic, I switched the code back to 0546659 (t-mob uk) and reintstalled the firmware via NSU and now I have T-Mobile fw back here is the output from
*#0000#

v 11.0.026
17-04-07
rm-159
nokia n95 (43.01)

So it seems it is possible to switch back to the original carrier's firware.

As far as I'm aware the only reason you won't be able to switch back is if the firmware you want to switch back to is a lower number than your current one.
