T-mobile UK - Web 'n' Walk charging

Have been into my local T-Mobile store, great N95 demo kit in store, but the charging and feature set for web 'n' walk confuses me a little, hope someone can decipher it for me...

Noob query alert on.....

For £7.50 a month, I get a 1gb 'fair use' internet policy, but for £12.50 I get the ability to use the phone as a modem which confuses me, surely at any point I can use the phone as a modem regardless of the plan I buy into? Isnt this more of a feature of the phone, not the plan? The same goes for the email options too? How on earth is that done??

Noob query alert off....

Cheers!
Steve

The 7.50 deal disallows certain kind of usage such as VOIP, streaming, using your phone as a modem, etc.

The 12.50 plan does not have those restrictions. This is all specific to T-Mobile, even though your phone can easily do it, if they 'detect' that kind of unautorised usage on the 7.50 plan they will give you a couple of warnings and then finally they will rate-limit your speed and then cut you off if you continue to offend.

Go the 12.50 plan. ;)

Go for the £7.50 plan until they, if ever, catch you.
The £7.50 plan is not MEANT to be used for modem use, streaming, etc. However nothing is blocked. I know this as I'm streming radio1 right now on my £7.50 web and walk plan, and I've also used my n95 as a modem before and it works fine.
I think what they are really hinting at is the data usage you use. As in if you were on the £7.50 plan and were streaming and downloading like mad they would call you up on it. As long as you keep within the 1gig fair use I honistly don't think they care that much what you use it on.

Regards,
Simon

I have the 7.50 plan, have used it constantly for streaming audio, and have not got close to the 1gb limit, and have had no indication from t-mob that there is anything amiss.

I agree, I hammered the Web n Walk when I had my MDA Vario II.. I was listening to streaming radio stations constantly and using it as a modem with my laptop and never heard a peep from t-mob.

I've had the £7.50 Web'n'Walk for about a year now, I may be wrong but at the time I took it out there were no stated terms and conditions that precluded VOIP, Modem, Streaming etc.. and no mention of a 1GB cap. Therefore unles they write to me stating an implicit change in their t&c I know nothing about these restrictions
