I'm not promoting or advocating the use of stolen blocked phones or sugggesting the OP has one. But. I understand it that if a phone is Blacklisted in the UK, it will work in another country? So even if it is blacklisted in China, wouldn't it work in the US?
I post this mearly to rule out this possibility as a fault finding excersize.
If however technology has advanced and operators can now block phones for use round the globe - all the better in the fight against theft. Just hope the OP hasn't got a dud one.
