O2 -Terrible reception since upgrade

I've just upgraded from SE K800i to N95 on O2. Well I thought the signal strength used to be bad on the K800i but on the new N95 its just terrible. Maximum of one bar in the house and two or three in the garden. This is compared to about 3 in the house and 5 in the garden before. Anyone else had this problem?
I'm think its going to have to go back and I'll try Tmobile.

Upgrades are exempt, so you're stuck with the phone and handset.

Isnt the 800i a GSM phone? You cannot compare the 2 as the N95 is 3G. Seems 3G reception is poor in your area, so try switching from Dual mode to GSM only under tools>settings>network

No the K800i is 3G also. I can return phone within 14 days so will do that and swap to T-Mobile as their webnwalk thing looks pretty generous. Especially as I have now read that despite Instant messaging not being allowed it does still work.

The 14 day return doesnt apply if you upgraded your handset and kept your number on the same network. No network offers this, and your new contract will say upgrades are exempt. You'll be stuck with O2.

Just to let you know O2 have accepted back the handset and cancelled my contract. The 14 day return DOES apply for upgrades.
Now using a N95 on T-Mobile and the reception is full strength and has 3G all the time. Lovin it!
