Firmware upgrade on Three (Australia)?

I have not yet received my phone (should do tomorrow) but heard that firmware upgrade is not yet out for Three branded phones? Is this true? I would have thought firmware would be available regardless of carrier.

Nokia release the new firmware for Generic Unbranded phones. Then the Network Operators customise it and release their version some time after. Sometimes they don't bother with each release.
