Question Vodafone N95 Updates

Just bought an N95 on Vodafone and have read all about updating the software etc, is it best to update in a certain way or a certain version of software. Will it make any difference in the time it takes between screens?

This might seem quite silly, but what is the purpose and benefits of updating your phone?

Apologies if posted in wrong section!

Thanks

The best way to update the software is via the software updater in pc suite.

There's always glicthes in phone software and as more come out for a certain device the less the glitches there as they're reported on.

For example,my N95 had v.10 when i got it,then i upgraded to v.11 which sorted out some camera bugs and now i have v.12 which the only really noticable thing is the assisted GPS.

Hope my gibberish helps you in some way or other.

Also, would adding new software void any warrenties or insurance with my operator or nokia?

Thanks
