Vodafone UK V12 update..anybody got it?

Hi all,

Been trying to get the vodafone V12 uodate but its not available via Nokia update so was wondering if anybody else has managed to get it?

I have just received an email back from vodafone saying that I should be able to get the update by visiting a vodafone shop....might try that if I can't do it any other way.

I know there are way to do it by changing the phones code, but that voids the warranty I believe and I dont want to go down that route?

I had the same problem with Orange, only v11 firmware.
So I de-branded my phone an install a genuine Nokia firmware.
now GPS is much more faster, no more random reboots and crashes
no more crappy orange menus. no more WARRANTY? :)

previously I had a phone which was unusable with warranty
now I have a nice phone without warranty

Well, I paid a visit to the vodafone shop yesterday (as suggested in the email I received from vodafone) they had to make a call to ask if it was avilable as they can only do an update by sending the phone away.

Anyway, the response was no :( They said that they had only released the V11 update in August so they did not expect V12 to be available anytime soon :(

I am very tempted to change my code and update the the generic version of the software, but that would mean losing features like vodafone live and vodafone postcard...not to mention the hassle of possibly voiding the warranty.

Think I will most likely stick it out for a while and hope for a V12 update in the next couple of months or so...

Hi

I think you would lose the branding.
The functionality should still be there.
My phone is an unlocked non branded N95 which I got from P4U
Its on Vodafone contract and both LIVE and Passport work fine.
You just need to ask Vodafone to text you the settings
