Talking

Finally, got the phone ordered last night, at least they get DHL to deliver or I'd probably never see the phone because of the postal strike.

I got the 02 30 Texter Tarriff, which is:

£30 400Mins, 1000texts and Unlimited free calls to 02 mobiles, well when they say unlimited the fair usage is 2000mins.

Considering most people I know are on 02 I probably wont get a chance to use the other 400mins.. =/

Thanks for the info on the T-Mobile Flext tarriffs, the only reason I didnt go with T-mobile is because I was with them before and they do not provide coverage in my house, if I want to make a call or send a text with them Id have to go out side and down the street, its crazy..

I'm a happy o2 customer, I nearly signed up with Virgin Mobile (I have a natter account) but I failed the credit checks. Apparently they can't prove they pay me or something stupid like that.

Having worked my through all of the main providers in the UK over the past few years, I have to say for me O2 win hands down. Orange has zero coverage in my area, despite them saying opposite, all of the others were just OK. O2 almost always have full reception here, although 3G does not work anywhere in my home town for some reason so I miss out on Video calls.

O2 are very open to negotiations, I have 2 phones on contract, both 12 months, and after my initial contract expired I asked them what they could do for me. Aftr some haggling I got on phone 1 500 x-net anytime minutes and 1000 texts for 25 quid per month. Second handset, the one I use, I negotiated 450 x-net anytime minutes, 750 texts and there unlimited data plan, 3 gig monthly fair usage, for 25 quid too.

The only issue I ever had was ordering my N95, they said in stock and guaranteed next day, no phone after 4 days so I rang them, again guaranteed next day, 2 more days pass. They finally admitted the ohone was never in stock to start with and they were simply taking pre-orders. Complained and got a £50 credit on my account.

Overall they have been great to deal with.

Absolute worst was Orange, guaranteed me top notch coverage, actually get no signal anywhere in my street. If I walk around the local area I could sometimes get a signal. They refused to let me out of the contract without penalty. In the end I just cancelled the direct debit and returne the phone. This was 3 years ago and they are still trying to get the remaining line rental costs for breach of contract LOL

o2 finally have something for data users.... not looked at the small print yet but £7.50 for upto 200Mb a month is better than the price i'm paying now for 20Mb (£8.51 + VAT).

Details here Consumer Data Bolt On - Tariffs - Mobiles & Tariffs - O2

These people are contenders for The British Comedy Awards!

Choose the data bolt on to suit your needs, there are 2 to choose from:
  • O2 Web Bolt On gives you unlimited* browsing through your phone for £7.50 per month (* A fair use of 200MB per month applies to the O2 Web Bolt On.)
And don’t forget all of our tariffs have an inclusive data allowance for you explore data on your mobile at no additional cost:

High St Tariffs
100KB free on tariffs less than 600 minutes Less than a tenth of a MB!
512KB free on 600 minute and above tariffs Wow! Half a MB!

All Online tariffs
1 MB Free on all tariffs A whole MB!! I'm overwhelmed by their generosity!

Incredible!

LOL

Tell me about it, O2 have been seriously extracting the urine for some time now with their supposed Data offerings.

Before I renewed my contract with them, I used to have a 36Mb bolt on... which was handy (think it was £17+ a month - sounds a lot but at the standard cost of 1Mb of about £3 I think - it was reasonable). However, when they brought the new tariffs out middle of last year, that bolt on disappeared and the best you could get was the 20Mb for £10 a month.

Now at least they are making an effort. The other one for £30 a month is a bit steep though.

LOL, still not much of an effort though.

Better than their old data bolt-ons (which isn't hard! £5 for 4MB, or £10 for 20MB) but still pretty bad.

T-Mobile Web 'n' Walk:

£7.50 Web 'n' Walk with T-Mobile... 1GB per month.

£12.50 Web 'n' Walk Plus with T-Mobile... 3GB per month.

£22.50 Web 'n' Walk Max with T-Mobile... 10GB per month.

versus...

O2 Data bolt-ons:

£7.50 O2 Web Bolt on... 200MB per month

£30 O2 Web Max bolt-on... 3GB per month

No contest!
