Exclamation Ordering on 02 website..

I just finished my previous contract, cancelled it and was going to go with o2.

Picked the N95 and a Tarrif.. got through to the checkout, entered my postcode.. and what do you know my address doesnt come up, so now I have to wait a week for them to enter it manually into the system, what a joke.. a week!

Surely it cant take that long to enter a few lines into their system?

Anyway, cant wait to get the N95.. is it worth the wait?

You're willing to wait a week? I'm very impatient if I went to sign up with a company and they don't acknowledge my address I'd check their competitors to see if they do. ;)

N95 is good, I'm sending mine back to be replaced though but don't let that put you off.

I was looking at other networks like three, or vodafone, but o2 seem to offer the best deal. Other networks also want you to pay for the phone no matter what, for example if you pay £35 a month on t-mobile you still have to pay for the phone :S

Looks like im just going to have to wait :(

im not sure about u guys, but when i was in uk, studying.. O2 retail & O2 online are 2 separate companies.. both have different promotion packages. normally O2 online has better deals, but u dont get the phone immediately.

i personally prefer O2 retail. u get the phone immediately.. and u get to go back directly to any O2 retails for warranty purposes..

this is true for O2 uk. not very sure for O2 n/ireland..

Also CPW have deals which *sometimes* can be better than the networks, and their branded stores ;)

Arrow

In Northern Ireland we still have 02-UK. I went to the 02 shop today and they said I could order the online tariff I wanted in store, so i thought lets go ahead, but what do you know it my address still isn't on the system, I'm not that patient.

Also if I order the online tariff in store they will give me the phone so a great deal and I get the phone on the same day!

I used to be with O2, for years, but switched to T-Mobile last week when I got my N95.

Much better deals, IMO, even if you have to pay a small amount for the phone.

T-Mobile Flext35 is currently £30 (they're doing £5 off per month on all line rental).

It gives you roughly the same allowances of calls + texts as the O2 online 30 (£30), but with flexibility - so you can swing it all the way towards texts, or calls, or a mixture (instead of having an insanely huge no. of texts you'll never use, & not enough minutes, like with O2)

They were also doing free weekend calls when I placed my order in September, although I think that has finished now.

I added in Web 'n' Walk for an extra £7.50 - making a total of £37.50 for Flext35 +WnW. The standard WnW gives you "unlimited" browsing etc. (with a 1GB per month usage cap).

Compare that to O2's data rates...

With O2, you get 1MB inclusive data usage per month.

You can add an extra 4MB for £5/month, or 20MB for £10/month.

Seems a bit poor compared to 1GB for £7.50 with T-Mobile!

To get free weekends with O2, I'd have had to pay £35/month (Online 35).

And for data... no comparison... T-Mobile beat O2 hands down.

I did pay £20 for the phone, but i saw that as a fair, & negligible, price to pay.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. CPW wouldn't fix my N95 when it went awol updating the fireware. Said they had to have documentation linking my phone with me, & a Imei no.
No problem I thought, phoned Orange, explained, asked them to Fax/Email it to CPW, or an Orange shop close by, WRONG..............have to send it by letter.........snail mail..!!! Correct me, or an I wrong, this is the 21st century, isn't it?
To rub salt in the wounds, it would take a WEEK.........and when it came, the stamp mark was from a town less than 20miles up the road, could have walked there & back with 6 days to spare........LOL

So I had to get on the phone & rip them, gotta laught,

Korky

I was on that Flext tarriff once, the £25 one. I was considering going back to T-Mobile. If I choose the £35 one I would still have to pay something like £49.99 for the phone or was it £39, not sure. Id rather not pay anything extra for the phone.
The WnW is good, 02 charge far too much for data services. Maybe They Will sort this out? I hope.

That doesnt surprise me either! Lol. My problem is my house number just needs an 'A' put on it as their once was a house here before but got knocked down and built two.. don't see what 02's problem is, they could still send me the phone and put the 'A' in manually.. couldn't be that hard writting a letter of the alphabit for one item? Lol.
They could of then cahnged my address when they put it on the system..

Well.. another few days to wait yet ...

I paid £20 for my N95, with the Flext35 + Web 'n' Walk. I think the phone cost for just Flext35 was around £40.

It's gone down now though:

Flext35 - N95 costs £29.99

Flext35 + W'n'W - N95 is now free.

Flext35 is currently £30/month.

Flext35 + W'n'W is currently £37.50

(£5 discount per month on line rental).

O2 are introducing "unlimited" data tarrifs for the upcoming iPhone launch. AFAIK, they're also going to make the same tarrifs available to people with different phones, not just iPhone users.

However.... IMO the new iPhone tarrifs are awful. Even worse than the current O2 tarrifs! Something like 200 mins + 200 texts + "unlimited" data (not sure of the usage cap) for £35/month!

Bah! I get "£180 allowance" on Flext35 giving me 900 minutes or 1800 texts, or any mixture thereof which comes to £180. Plus 'cos of W'n'W I get "unlimited" browsing etc. with a 1GB cap. All for £37.50...
