How to change carriers in Canada? From Rogers to Ice Wireless...

Hello everyone,
I just moved from New Brunswick to Yellowknife, North West Territories. Rogers does not have coverage here. However a new GSM cellular provider has emerged called Ice Wireless. I went to their store to get a new number and when I put the SIM card in my phone it recognised the "Ice Wireless" network (with full signal strength) but I could not receive or make any calls... How do I fix this? I bought the phone new and unlocked. Do you soppose that when I originally signed up with Rogers that my phone then became locked with them? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I like my N95 a lot and would not like to have to subscribe to the other service which is Bell.

Wow 15 views and nothing.
Can someone at least confirm for me that with an unlocked phone theoretically one could switch out SIM cards of different networks and all would work normally? Yes or No?

Have you registered the SIM card itself? Many service providers will require you to call their customer services and register your name, address etc. before full use of the card is enabled

And yes, an unlocked phone would make use of any SIM card regardless of network

As far as I know the Ice Wireless rep registered the IW SIM card...She called her supervisor and a new phone number was assigned to me and all should have worked.

We even took her SIM card out of her personal phone and put it in mine... My phone recognised IW and I had a full signal but same as before I couldn't make or receive any calls.

Her supervisor told her I would have to do a reboot or something. And that once I figured it out to enter 000000...

Well, *#7370# will do a hard reset of the phone

But you should back up all/wanted data(Contacts, messages, images etc.) before attempting it
