T-mobile branding and V20

Hey everyone,
With the release of v20 I'm very tempted to unbrand so I can install the new firmware. I'm currently on Tmob UK and just have a few worries before debranding.

1, Will I lose and SMS/MMS/Browsing settings?
2, Will I lose any functionality? I read elsewhere someone wasnt able to access Tmob 3.5G HSDPA after debranding, considering how much of a fight it was getting it enabled, I don't want to lose it!

anything else I need to consider? What needs backing up and what is safe?

Thanks :)

Your settings should be read from your SIM card when the phone restarts, if not, you should be able to go to the T-Mobile website and have them sent to you in an SMS.

I use Nokia PC Suite to copy all my photos and sync all my Notes, Calendar and Contacts. You can use PC Suite to Backup and Restore these items but I recommend not restoring settings made on one version of firmware to a different version.

I'm not on T-Mob myself and haven't seen the rumour you have.

Thank you very much, Any Tmob UK n95 owners out there can confirm whether or not debranding loses 3.5G functionality?

-- EDIT: additional --

And if it does, is it possible to revert back to v12 with my originil code? Or would I have to hard reset first?

Thanks.

I have done the debranding process and kept all functionality. It even fixed my problems with Video Calling. :)

EDIT:
And no, you cannot downgrade.

Went ahead with it and so very glad I did.

The whole unbranding process went very smoothly and didn't take nearly as long as I expected. I made sure to uninstall NSU and PC Suite, got the newest versions, I rebooted every step of the way, made sure my memory card was out etc and all the other recommendations just to be safe. Few minutes after starting the firmware update it was done. Rather than copying my contacts through Outlook (because I don't have it) I copied them to my PC and then just copied them back. Reinstalled Apps etc and it's swish.

Camera seems faster, browsing through images - MUCH MUCH faster with v20, was quite sluggish before. Slideshow is now SEAMLESS, V12 slideshow was jerky, paused and gave me low memery messages, no more! That's all I've tested so far...

Oh and didn't lose any functionality or settings. Thanks guys :D
