Well...

I cant digest 200-300 pounds for simply unlocking. I am going to be a vodafone customer (i think), only they have a decent n95 8gb deal (plus its also unlocked). O2 deals are just rubbish. Just debrand it and its as good as new.

One nooby question:

When you see any pay monthly deal , they also give you the prices , and all networks except 3 have different rates for calls to other networks.
Now suppose i have 500 mins, is that 500 voda-voda minutes for 500 voda-anything minutes, or a mixture of both.
Whats the point in writing the prices at all?
(Please keep in mind i am VERY new to this business, always had unlocked phone right out of the box (full market price) and could use with any sim)

Thanks a lot

The prices shown are so that you know what you will be charged if you go past your allowance/included minutes.
Some deals include cross-network calls...some don't ..so be careful to check if that's important to you..

You can see there point of view anyone could get a contract with dodgy details get it unlocked and never pay a penny by going off abroad. They have to have some sort of security in place i guess

One thing to remember about 3 is that they are the only UK provider that allow you to use VOIP on their web add on. It costs £5 a month and you get a huge amount of usage AND you can use VOIP. O2 do not allow VOIP usage on their internet add on, neither do Vodafone. T Mobile allow it, but it costs £15 a month.

I've been with 3 for just under a month and I'm very happy with them so far.

Yeah, i think sadly if you're going to get one, go on three. Best internet and VOIP deals, and very fast!

once you are with 3, they will almost do anything to keep you. offer you good discouts, deals with no phone upgrade. so once you are past your first contract you could be quid's in.

i've just renewd 12 mth contract
500 mins, 100 txts - x-series gold with slingbox for £20 p/m

no phone - as i had a n95 classic, from the contract i cancelled in december when they changed their T&C's

Hey guys,
I have the N95-1 with 3 and yes it has the 3 logo on the back of the battery cover but that can always be replaced. Also,3 can unlock a phone for you i think on their website but I think you need to stay with them a certain amount of time before you can unlock the phone. actually when the contract ends you can get it unlocked otherwise you do have to pay a fee prior to the contract ending I did it with one of my other phones.
Also, not sure if this is the same in another country for ppl wanting to change sims for travelling doesnt a cap plan include international calls i know they do here. That point may have been pointless as I haven't actually gone overseas with my phone
Also i recently got my phone repaired (got it back yesterday) and at the time I thought the latest firware for 3 was the v12 which i already had but i have checked and i am on v20!!!! So i didn't need to debrand the phone after all.

Hope that helps
