US ATT 3G and N95

I purchased a new N95 from eBay from [newconnection1] who has 9k+ good feedbacks. The phone was new in box, came with all the accessories and manual. The website indicated that the phone was 3G and knowing that a 3G US version exists I trusted him.

I've had the phone for over a month now and I have turned on the settings to do both bandwiths, and as far as I know, ATT has no settings in their network to turn on 3G and I still don't have 3G, I'm always on EDGE.

Is there a way I can find out what frequency my phone is? Is there a code I can enter the same I get the IMEI number to show me the frequency of the phone?

I have also registered on the warranty page and the N95 is acting up with the ringtones, it starts playing the song then it sounds like a broken record and then it plays it correctly and sounds like a broken record again. If I send it in for repair or replacement, will they send me a US version if the one I have is EU version?

type in *#0000# and if it says RM-159 on second or third line (i forget which) then it is the European version and will not support 3G in the US

Also if the camera on the back of your N95 has its flash on your right side (when facing you, upright) and has a protective retractable cover, you have an N95-1 (European) that will NOT support ATT 3G.

I have the 8Gb without the lens cover and the flash is at the bottom of the lens, that I confirmed before I purchased the device.

Does the RM-320 mean that it's a US 3G or just US 8Gb?

I was in Vegas this weekend, I live in LA, and when I was in the elevator at the MGM Grand to go to my room I saw the 3G sign with a slash through it but I'm assuming that's because I had no signal at all so the first thing it was looking for was 3G. Otherwise, once in my room it went back to EDGE.

Uhoh, the camera thing doesn't work when referencing the 8GB (only on silver, microSD variants). I'm not so sure about the difference between the American and European firmwares in the case of that model.

buddy u have the European 8gb version so this wont work for US 3g network offered by att. i have the same phone so i know...in order to have 3g working here it has to be US 3g version which is still to come in 8gb form. US 3g is available in N95-3 specifically for USA.

Any idea when the US 8Gb 3G version will be out or if it's already out?

Any idea if I were to send it to Nokia for replacement, maybe they'll send me the US version of the 8Gb?

My girl had the UK version of the LG shine and we called Asurion to get a replacement because she dropped it in water and they sent us a US version with 3G.

Where can i buy i US N95 8GB ?

The ONLY place I've seen the 8GB US model is in the Nokia US store, for somewhere in the neighborhood of $750-799.
