Hi all. I have owned an original
N95 for the past 18 months or so and have been really pleased with it. Unfortunately just as I was deciding that it would be the first phone I have ever not bothered to upgrade... the screen has started to go squirrelly! I guess it's on its last legs and I need to look for a replacement.
My intention was to go straight to what I thought was the newest version - the N96 - but having read some reviews I'm starting to think that the build quality is letting it down and early buyers are being used almost as beta-testers by Nokia. I really can't be doing with a phone where I have to wait for the 4th or 5th version of the firmware release until it works how it should, and I don't fancy a phone made out of plastic so awful that it's been commented on by various reviewers... so I'm now heading towards the
N95 8GB. Is that a fair shout or are there some options I should consider elsewhere?
I use the camera quite a bit for family type shots, so that's important; I use the internet frequently (I've got Opera mini set up on the
N95 and it's great); I watch films occasionally and play music through bluetooth headsets - and I like the fact that I can install loads of other applications on the
N95 (which I presume is the same for the 8GB version) - do other phones have this facility?
If it makes any difference, I'm not that fussed about touchscreens but wouldn't ignore one if it had the range of applications and the camera quality of my
N95. Also, at the moment I'm on T-mobile with included internet time - I guess with my internet usage I'd need to go for a phone that is available on a similar internet-included monthly tariff.
Anyway, any advice or pointers gratefully received.
Cheers, Moose
