IMEI codes..

Hi

I have just bought a N95 and the IMEI code thats inside the battery casing matches the IMEI thats accessed via *#06# but the IMEI thats printed on the side of the box my phone came in does not match...Why would this be?

The phone is on the Orange network and I intend to debrand and unlock it as Orange does not work very well where I live and I can forsee trouble ahead with the IMEIs not matching...

Is this a correct assumption or can the phone be unlocked and debranded regardless of this...

Where did you buy the phone from ? Maybe you got a refurbished one in the wrong box.

The phone can be debranded and unlocked regardless.

Thanks I will get that done then as I want to use it on the 02 network which has a far better coverage up here.

I bought the phone off a guy I know who upgraded to a N96 but he is out of the country just now so I am trying to sort this out without his input as he wont be back for 6 weeks...

So is the phone unlocked? If not you will need to get it unlocked to use it on o2.
