N95/N96 auto connect for email

hi ive set my n96 and n95 up for email with my sky account, all goes well, but ive set autoconnect for my mail to every 30 mins, which i thought would connect, then id get a message i had new mail.
unfortunatly, it keeps asking for permission to connect, which seems to defeat the object, as i have to keep checking my phone now, to allow it to connect!!
is there a way round this, i just want the phone to connect and notify me of emai, like a normal phone should.
bloody nokia

My N95 connects, checks, downloads headers, then informs me if there are any new emails. Without my intervention.

Is it asking for permission or asking for the access point to use?

Are you using the built in email client?

its very easy to set up espeacially on the n96 as it allmost has an email kind of wizzard to guide you through it

my yahoo account works very well , there is a slight bug in the fact it will only download the header for me at 1st , but i still get the new email alert and the new email symbol when it auto connects evry half hour if i have new email

i then click the new email icon , it takes me to my yahoo account then i open up the message and it downloads the message for me :-) easy peasy

a user has reported that if you put in the message download limit as 9999 it will download your whole message and not just the header allthough i dont mind it only downloading the header

infact the new feature pack on the n96 makes setting up yahoo email very easy indeed

i suggest you have a setting wrong on the settings as mine works very well indeed

i would check the settings

i have sorted it, of sorts, auto connect is now set to off, and it now connects!.
Weird i know, but thats the n96 for you.
I thought it may have been rougue firmware, as ive recently updated to v12, but the firmware seems stable enough, and the improvements are massive
