Just a heads-up for anyone interested...
I've been happy with the time between charges for my
N95 8Gb except when I'm using the GPS, when it nose-dives. So I've been keeping my eye open for a cheap mobile power pack to re-charge it on the go. I know there are several types available but today I splashed out £9.99 for a unit from Maplin.
It's about the size of a playing card and is ten millimetres thick. It's a rechargeable pack and comes with a mains charger which, obviously, you'd not normally carry around with you. It also comes with a fistful of adaptors for most mobiles and other gadgets. Also, unlike the iGO unit, the adaptor is on the end of a cable, so the power pack and phone don't have to be kept together. It has an on/off button and four LEDs which show both the state of charge and the state of discharge.
It's too early for me to comment definitively on how well it all works in practise, but first impressions are good.
You can see the details here:
Maplin > Rechargeable Mobile Power Pack but you might have to hurry - they say the price will revert to £19.99 after the 13th of May.
