N95 compatible dual sim card adaptor
Morning everyone,
Just got my new N95 yesterday, after getting a really good deal. As I wasn't expecting to get the new phone until my other contract had run out (October), I now have 2 contracts and two sim cards. I did a bit of research yesterday and it looks like there are a few dual sim options but, non specifically for the N95. I just wanted to know if anyone could recommend a solution ? or if anyone has an idea what I should be looking for ?
I would prefer not to chop up my sim cards but, if needs must.....
Many thanks
Paul

I only have one piece of advice for you...
Be VERY careful when cutting up SIMs. I tried the 'ghost' SIM adapter when i had my MDA Vario. Could only get one SIM to be recognized.
I ended up with NO working SIMs. I'm not the best at art and craft as it is... but still. Be careful.

That's why I'd prefer not to cut the cards up !
I don't have an issue in doing it, as I've always messed around with things like this, since I was a child but, just not sure how much I should cut off etc. I'm guessing that any material up to the gold contacts but, as I've never done it before....
There are quite a few solutions out there that you do don't have to butcher the sim cards to use but, I'm not sure if they'll fit the N95 or not.

Another word of advice ... some of the dual SIM adapters out there are NOT 3G compatible, which makes them kind of useless IMO!

Based on that, again i advise against it.
The gold contacts are 'the tip of the iceburg' as it were.... hold the simcard up to a lightbulb quite close and you'll see what you need to preserve.

I do not know if you got the dual sim card holder for your Nokia N95. I have in stock double sim card holders of non-cutting type. One of the models is compatible with 3G models.I have fitted it in Nokia E65,Nokia N73,N80,N70 , 6630 etc

I am just returning a dual sim adapter that caused chaos on my N95 8GB The ebay seller has now said that there can be problems with N95. It would switch sims without any input from me & I was left with voice calls on one sim & sms on the other ! I had to get my provider to download new settings to the phone. This was the type that does not require cutting.

Using second handset may be option too. Or contacting your operator to get the 2 lines with different numbers in one SIM card.
Usually I'm bearing 2 to 3 handsets with prepaid cards. Have not been on contract since NMT-450i times. In what countries there is such mandatory contract terms with network operators?

Contracts are not mandatory anywhere, it's just that you usually get a much better deal on the handset and your free calls/SMS/Data allowance if you take out a contract with a network. That's the reason most people here keep mentioning contracts.
