Back plate question.

Sorry if this may take the thread into a different direction. I was wondering how one is able to open the backplate? I was thinking of replacing the back plate of my soon to be received N95 with the warm graphite coloured theme. Is it snap on/off? Are there any screws involved?

And last but not least, would switching back plates void the warranty?

There are no screws holding the back cover on...

Remove the battery and leave off the battery cover, unclip the back cover by running your fingernail along the edge and pulling the cover slightly away from the body of the phone, to break the connection of some small adhesive pads. Start on the side that has the camera controls and when that side of the cover comes loose and is partway opened, repeat the same seal-breaking action on the opposite side of the phone, the back cover should then easily slip off from the camera-button side.

Don't touch the adhesive pads which are inside the edges of the back cover, as when refitting the back cover in reverse order of the above, you need to press firmly over the location of the pads to help resecure it. N.B. When refitting, try and clip the back cover over each side of the phone, starting from the jack-socket side this time, so that it contacts cleanly, rather than just pushing down on it to engage the clips. Simply pushing it back on is liable to crease or even dislodge the adhesive pads.

re: Warranty... Providing that you keep the original back cover and are able to replace it neatly if you need to return the device, I can't see it causing any problems.

Great! Thanks for the information. I'm even more eager for my phone's arrival now.
