Backing plate
Ok, after finding out just how easy it is to remove the backing plate on my 95, im very tempted to get some spray paint to it (a nice british racing green me thinks)!! ;) Has anyone else modified their backing plates yet? Also, should i just leave it at spraying the back plate, or maybe do the front cover aswell? :D

well i think that should be your choice only.... if its gonna be a personal mod, why have others decide on it?
dont know how happy warranty people would be though...
but if you do it, make sure you get up some pics :)

I'm waiting for some reasonably priced aftermarket plates... I have plans for powder coating and sprayable metals. I'll be the first lie on my block with a nickel-silver N95. :)
I just don't want to f up my original on the test run- and 55 usd is WAY too much.

BTW- you can powdercoat in almost any color. Certainly the color you've pictured, and it will be quite durable. :)

It would cost me about £50-$100 to buy complete cover and then about £15-$30 for the powder coating so not a huge amount, bout the same as a pair of jeans.

Sounds good, just make sure you use a proper plastic primer before the final colour top coat. Otherwise, the paint will flake off in no time.

hmm.. I'm only familiar with powdercoating when a high temperature is used to fuse the powder. High enough that this plastic will melt. Are talkingabout using a heat gun to "flow" it vs "fuse" it?

yeah i had only really heard of powdercoating metals... but i dont know much about it...
anyway, with such a small piece of plastic, surely it would be really easy and quick to just use a spray
