Received my Brodit active car kit yesterday.

All I can say is it's a quality piece of kit. Solid construction. A snug fit for the N95, and the phone is removed and inserted with ease. The charger is a good one inch shorter than the Nokia one, which is nice, and the holder has a good tilt and swivel action.

Much less obtrusive than the Nokia universal holder I had been using.

All in all, 9/10 (would have liked the option for straight as opposed to coiled cable - just so that it could be tracked and hidden)

I got it from DSL Developments - superb service as I believe it was only released for sale yesterday.

Hi kingsize,

I'm really interested in this holder but I am afraid it will damage the soft finish of the cover of my N95.
If it is the same as the previous holders I've had of Brodit their quality is excellent and nothing comes close BUT I'm afraid the pressure the holder applies to the sides of the phone will rub off the "paint" of the phone

can you please give it a close look and give some feedback please?
thanks!

I was also wondering if it looks possible to you to replace the Brodit charger with a Nokia one as I already have an original charger

do you think it's possible to change the plugs?

thanks!

Well, only had it two days now and no friction-based markings on phone; I get the impression that the holder, while very snug, is of a softer, more malleable plastic - there is some 'give' in it, so I am not concerned about marking the phone.

Hope that helps.

No, the plug is an integral part of the holder, and to be honest, that's the beauty of it - much less fiddling.

My advice, take the hit on the nokia charger, and go for it - it's quite superb!

thanks a lot for the info!
the reason why I am conserned of markings is because I get in/out of the car atleast 7 times every day so moving phone in/out of holder pretty often

and I read somewhere (pretty reliable source) that non original chargers could reduce battery life due to slightly higher peaks

I am very eager to order me one though :)

would it be possible for you to post some pictures of the holder itself and of the holder with the phone?
