Looks like a great product though. Can't wait to get mine.
I picked up this suction mount holder on ebay for $ 9.99 + $ 5.99 shipping from China. If the link doesn't work, you can find them on ebay for items sold under the sellers name "truesupplier" and keyword "N95".

It arrived in about 10 days very sturdily packaged in a tiny box. I mounted it on the windshield of my car in NY two weeks ago and it has remained firmly attached to the windshield- despite bumps and jarring from NYC potholes and rough roads, extreme cold, etc. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a simple mount. It allows for 90 degree rotation, does not obscure the charger plug or any buttons and is easy to pop the phone in and out of.

I like it so much, I've ordered another one for my other car.

Hello

I am new at this forum and also brand new owner of N95 8GB and now i try to get everything that i need for please usage of my phone.

One think that i am looking for last 45 minutes is good and realable car holder (+ recharger) which will be mounted on windscreen of my cars (i have two of them so i want to be able to transfer that holder from one to another) and main reason why i need holder is to be able to use GPS more easily.

I sow some "unknown" holders and it seems that they would be good enough for me but from pictures i can't see if it will allow me to "open" my N95 so i could have better GPS reception. It seems that all of them has some tiny plastic rounds at both ends so phone can be fitted in them only while it is closed. I sow this brodit holder for N95 8GB but i don't like why it should be installed.

So i would really appreciate if someone can give me link to one holder that :

1) Is mounted on windscreen (and has charger, if there is no charger then can you give me advice what charger should i buy, i don't want to brake my phone with bad chargers)

2) allow N95 8GB to be fitted in it while phone is open (slide up)

3) it is possible to tilt it so i can use wider side of N95 8GB instead of "normal" possition

Thank you, and sorry for my English....

Welcome.

Take a look through the link below, there's lots of different types linked in there. As for charging, use a normal incar charger.

The holer itself is top notch quality IMO. I just didn't like the bracket, it left a big gap in my dash between panels. I ended up just using the holder attach to the dash itself with screws. The part where it screwed into is removable and cost a few buck to replaced.

The first bracket/clip I got from Brodit really interfeared with my dash. As you mentioned, it left a huge gap. Luckily there were other options and they dealer just swapped it for a different bracket which made a much better fit.

I also considered screwing it into the dash directly, but I couldn't find an appropriate space.

I bought a Brodit Active holder for my N95 8GB off ebay for about £24.95. After a few days i noticed that part of the holder was starting to perish so I contacted the supplier who asked me to send it back and they sent me a replacement. when I received the replacement I noticed that this time the charger didnt work!! :( i have now asked for a full refund. I still want another brodit though as they look great when they aren't falling to bits! Plus i have a pro clip which cost £15 and is useless without the brodit!

PS: avoid Qfonic (ebayid: phonetrading)

My charger has stopped working on the Brodit. tried a new fuse and it lights up but will not cahrge my N95 :(

Also the holder is terrible if you just want to pop the phone in quickly. It is way to easy to bend the plastic wings that slide over the keys, sepcially if you put the phone in the holder closed. I am very dissapointed with it, shame as Brodit stuff is normally top notch.

May send it back and see if they weill replace it.

John

I noticed that the active holder with the hidden cable recommends that you get a professional to install it... Does anybody have any experience of installing this one? is it gonna be harder than, say, taking off my dashboard and connecting a line-in cable to my stereo?
