Nokia Car Charger Not Working

Hello,

I bought 2 Nokia chargers off Ebay.

They say:
Nokia DC-4
Input DC 12V/24V
Output: 5.7V/800mA
e24
Made in Finland by Astec

When I use it in the car - it constantly beeps and says charging. Today it beeped it was charging AND gave the batter low signal. When I unplugged it, it the N95 went dead - right off. It is charging on the provided home charger - but still no up yet (been about 30 minutes)

What I am concerned about is - did it drain my battery while it said it was charging - all the beep warnings? Hopefully I did not fry my phone.

I bought two - because I bid on two - basically just paid shipping. Both exhibit the same behaviour....

Thoughts?

Oh crap....just went on to The N95 Users Store:
Nokia Car Charger DC-4 - Nokia N95 Chargers & Cables on Nokia N95 Users Store
The header says:
Nokia Car Charger DC-4 for Nokia N95 8GB by Nokia
The drop down for compatible devices says

It says: This product is not compatible with Nokia N95 8GB ..

oh...so confused...

might be worth into looking at the socket in the car to see if it puts out regular/consistent power?

Agree with Rod, make sure the car cigar lighter is working correctly.

Are you sure it wasn't saying NOT charging?

That seems to be a common problem with car chargers, it was blamed on the phone connector being too short on one model.

Sorry - it would say 'charging' but kept beeping and saying it.

It sounds like the ciggie lighter could be the issue - going to have it checked out at the next tune up!

Thanks!
