DC-4 Car Charger performance

Right now, I've got a shoddy £5 charger I got from one of those overpriced stands in the mall. It doesn't pretend to be official, and I didn't expect that when I bought it, but I've only used it on one journey, and it's useless. It charges slowly, barely maintaining the level of charge in the phone, and the whole time it's plugged in, it makes a strange hissy beeping sound intermittently. Since I have it wired to my car stereo for music purposes, this is very noticeable, and gets old rather quickly.

Before I rush out and buy a DC-4, does it perform better than this? Additionally, does it make that 'orrible noise all the time?

Thanks,

~Loz

for accessories, its better to get nokia originals. from experience, those dodgy ones underperform. can't expect much for a £5 product could you? =D

answering your question, i have the DC-4 and it performs normally like a charger should. minus all the sounds

I have been using DC-4 for almost 5 months now. It works as a normal charger would, and no there are no sounds or beeps whatsoever.

It was out of character for me... I ALWAYS buy originals, always have, mainly 'cuz there's nothing worse than a third-party games controller! I think I was swayed by the price, and the fact that I didn't want my phone to expire on the journey up north. Glad to hear the real thing doesn't make any unwanted noises. I'll replace this joke shop charger in due course! ;)

Hope that due course is not too long, because a joke shop charger might not be good for your phone's health.

Good point. I don't think the phone's gonna suffer too much, 'cuz I've stopped using the charger now. At least I know it will be worth replacing with a genuine one! Thanks guys.

Saying that mate, I've got the DC-4, and i notice if i turn the phone volume to 40%, and my stereo up to normal level (phone plays via my head unit), then plug in the charger, i hear a hiss/intermittent noise through it. I think its more to do with the charging system of the phone not being ideal

I've got a similar setup mate. Beats using CDs :) Mine makes a pretty noticeable noise with the volume at max on the phone. If the DC-4 makes a noise, I'm sure it's not as bad!
