I just ordered my N95... color Sand (only to not have Deep Plum, which 90% of the N95's are...) I really like the black color, it's even blacker than the 8GB, which is a good thing. Like Henry Ford said, black is the only color! I'm considering ordering it... But if somebody already ordered it, please keep us posted!

Sorry guys no pics yet but Iv'e just noticed that my FRONT cover has paint coming off of the corner edges Top-Bottom of the front cover.

..... And I dont keep my phone in my pocket. I hang my phone from a silver chain on my neck its attached to a quick release keyring thing.

So it looks like yet another Casing has FAILED the N95Users test...hummm

I hope a member finds a good one so that all us members that want to can GO BLACK.

TC

Ok so these guys have been using cheap paint, whats the material quality like? is it metal and does it seem to be of solid/comparable to OEM construction? If so, repainting it yourself with high quality paint would be an easy and cheap option.

The quality was ok BACk Casing PLASTIC. FRONT Casing some sort of Diecast metal.
Now that I have seen that the paint is coming off I may at a later stage rub down the F-Cover and repaint it myself.

TC

PS.....Forgot to add that I made a Screen Protector for my N95. See Thread here - Home Made Screen Protector

Yeah I have seen your other post.

Regarding the paint, its probably just an issue of bad paint chioce, and inadequate surface prep.

Is there anyway I could plead with you to post a bunch of pics of the whole shebang? I could host them if thats and issue. Its just that I would really like to know if I should buy one of these things , and if its worth taking the phone apart.

Here we go. My kit came this morning, took about an hour to install and heres the results.

Here's the line up of bits and pieces.

Closeups of the keypads (as I know some of you were interested to see the quality of these).

I also managed to pick up some Vinyl dye paint as well which I might use for the area above the keypad, or if any of the paint scratches off I'll give it a respray.

Overall, the build quality was a little crummier than I had anticipated. I have used my old camera lens cover since the new one doesnt even open properly (one of the two lids stays shut). The vol up/down controller is a little messed up becase the plastic on the housing which keeps it in place is a little deformed. The rocker still works but it doesnt feel very nice. I may go back to it later and fix it.

Overall it does look very nice. Only thing i dont like is the area above the keypad but I think im going to spray it.. Somehow.. I think its going to take some major disecting!

Any questions, feel free to ask. By the way if you're looking for vinyl paint in the UK, i got mine from USAutomotive | American Auto Parts Supplier | American Car Parts and Jeep Parts
Impossible to find anywhere else!
