Black fascia / Casing - anyone done it yet?

Surely by now someone must have bought one of the after-market black conversion kits from eBay?

Anyone fitted one yet? Any pics to show?

Unhappy

I have just bought one, can someone tell me exactly what size torx bit i will need, is it T6 or T4 because another thread mentions T6 but another seller on ebay from HK sells the front cover with a T4 Screwdriver........ Confused!

Cheers

Richard

Yeah I received mine yesterday, they are rubbish quality (expected) but the guy sent me the wrong one, he sent me a plum backing and a silver front, instead of the black/black... Now I have to send it back!

There is a BIG difference in the quality, its really hard plastic, not th eslightly soft cover that comes with your phone. Also, it doesnt seem to be as 'thick', maybe some of you will appreciate that as it will lower the overall size of the N95, albeit by only a very small amount.

Hope that doesn't dissuade any of you from buying one, just don't expect it to be that great or you will be disappointed!

Sorry if that bums anyone out.... :-)

If there IS a black N95 in the pipeline, it looks as though the casing is identical from what I've seen, so probably a better bet to wait and buy genuine Nokia case parts to interchange.

Well the N95 service manual lists Torx 5 for the Upper Block Disassembly and Torx 6 for the Lower Block.

Google for... N95_RM-159_RM-245_sm_level_1_2.pdf ...it's worth having!

I have a black faceplate. Agreed that you should not expect good quality from those sold via ebay. If you are a perfectionist looking for the very best, you will definitely be disappointed.

Chances is that if you are picky, you will find some fine scratches on it, and the imprinted "Nokia N95" will wear off pretty quickly if you keep rubbing on it. :D

However, if you want black, this might be the only option at the moment.
