4gb & 6GB MicroSD Cards....

ok by now people have probably read the subject line and thought 'not another one'

but this is different.

anyway as some of you may know i had my N95 stolen, but got a replacement soon enough after on insurance, however 'accesories' were not covered. (so my new warm grpahite case and 2gb card were gone forever...)

at the time the 4gb were not yet out, and only being spoken about. then when they did come out, i had no phone to use one in, so i had to wait.

well now i have had my 4gb card i was wondering if people who said there phones were a lot quicker were purely psychosomatic? i read on a number of occasions people saying the camera loaded a hell of a lot faster....well mine still takes 3-4 seconds...and nothing really has increased speed-wise.

were these increased response times only notable in the newer firmwares? (im still on 10.xx, 'if it aint broke dont fix it' kind of logic)

and my card isnt a fake, it was bought from blueunplugged and came in the official packaging with the adapter and reader..

any reasons? like possibly the firmware?

Neither is my card a fake, I'm running a 4GB Sandisk card and v12 firmware, I can't say that I've noticed any increase in the camera start-up times... It checked-out at approx 4-5 seconds when I tried it just now.

However I've found that I see slightly faster data transfer speeds and I've also noticed that I can play higher-definition AVI's etc without needing to reduce them to 320x240 and it re-sizes them on the fly without 'stuttering' as it used to with my 2GB card, so overall I would say that there is a speed-increase, just that in my case at least, this doesn't affect the camera.

Have you checked what Class rating you card is? 1, 2, 4 or 6? It won't be 4 or 6, they aren't out yet.

The Class rating is what will get you that extra speed.

yeah mine's a 2..

and i guess its just as spook said about no increase in camera etc, but only on transfer, but like i had said im pretty sure others on the forums mentioned increase in various phone functions..

i just updated to firmware 12, just to see...(didnt make a difference)

though i am quite pissed off now, the theme i like, standard light blue type one (cant remember what it was called) is gone, i have it when i restore, but if i go to the theme menu at all it gives me the newer style s60 ones, which i really dont like...

does anyone know the theme im talking about? and know if i can download it anywhere? (official would be nice :) )

thanks to you both, i was aware of that... however its not the same theme..

thats why i was asking, not just being lazy

i dont have any apps that will take screenshots as i said i lost my previous phone and havent put anything but music on the new one and card, i will and show you the one i mean.

do nokia themselves not offer the themes as downloads anywhere? (the official ones i mean)
