Weebl you also have to remember that it is less when formatted but there is also a big difference between 8 gigabytes and 8 gigabits. You need to know which one a company is using before expecting a certain amount of space.

Yes they do. My N95-1 has an 8GB MicroSD card fitted

I bought a card a while ago that I discovered to be fake. What had been done was the space was compressed (or something). I was fortunate in the fact that I got the space advertised and the card lasted me while I used it.

I have also bought a memory stick which unfortunately doesn't work too well. Files disappear or get turned to mush on the stick and then I can't delete anything forcing a format.

annoying!!!

Both from Ebay - quite a while ago now - before fake cards where widely known....

There was a point where the fakes where so good that places like Dabs bought a load without realizing! I didn't care that my initial card was fake as long as it worked (which it did!) the USB stick was the biggest disappointment though.
