Even on phones it was louder on N95-1 with firmware v20 after going to v21 it droped very much.
It´s capped by firmware as they did once on Ipod, or PSP with the phones it came (90db).

Comedy is just about saying stupid things cleverly, or is it clever things stupidly... Anyway, it's not rocket surgery.

Convert the WMA to MP3 first

oo.. bad idea. I just converted over 700 mp3's to WMA to even them out. Reconverting or reorganising my whole media library is simply not an option i'm afraid.
Thanks anyway, but is there any other solutions?

Ogg Play lets you boost the output by 12dB.

at the big cost of the quality anyway + u lose the search fucnction... I still think that the only way is to hack the OS so that the speaker would get more power or if to remove some the software restriction for the sound loundess (if such exit) Sooo any other ideas...?

I remember some techies had hacked the hardware itself, replacing resistors on the speaker's circuit

Wow that's too dangerous for me... The trick would be to have the speaker or/and the headphone sound volume increased... No ideas for now huh..?

Mp3 gain doesn't claim to increase volume it just make all tracks play at the same volume. I would say that the N95 is a little on the quiet side but the best thing you can do is use good headphones. The ones that come with are useless. Try Sennheiser PX100's so good that I use them in the studio yet they are really cheap & much louder that the standard phones. The speakers are already maxed out.
